'Winter flame' Japanese Maple A highly desirable Dwarf Japanese Maple. Winter flame is an Acer palmatum cultivar that is a smaller, more compact version of Sango kaku. The palmate green leaves take on a yellow, orange and red with the bark a bright coral red in winter. Seems to be a bit hardier than the Sango kaku (less twig die back). 8 feet in ten years.
